Scott Mao's research areas are nanomechanical behavior of nanocrystalline materials, in-situ TEM, microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) and microfabrication; and piezoelectric/ferroelectric nanowires for sensor and nano-device applications, atomic force microscope and nanomechanics.
